Dr K. Tsitsika, MD, PhD is Assοciate Professor in Pediatrics / Adolescent Health at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens/Greece. She is the Scientific Supervisor of “youth friendly” services implementation programs of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and training programs of the Greek Ministry of Health. She has received the award of the Greek Society of Adolescent Medicine for her contribution to the development of Adolescent Health in Greece, and 20 other scientific awards.

She has been a visiting professor in Western Michigan University and adjunct Professor of the University of Kentucky in the United States. She has been the scientific supervisor of intense courses on youth with special needs and the “State of the Art” Adolescent Health/Medicine Conference, which takes place yearly in Greece since 2007.

She has taken part in international meetings as an invited speaker and has published a number of books in Greece and internationally. She has been collaborating with Greek and international journals as a reviewer and has published research and review articles on adolescent health. She is heading one of the leading programs on safe internet use and digital citizenship in Greece, as well as various other programs on youth eating disorders, obesity, sexuality issues and vaccinations. She has also developed social/emotional empowerment programs, in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Health, implementing them in the post Covid-19 era. She is also a member of the Covid-19 Survey Group of the Athens University that has published numerous Covid-19 articles.

She has been supervising scientifically the NGO “For Adolescent Health -F.A.H.” www.youth-life.gr  and is the President of the Hellenic/Greek Society of Adolescent Medicine GSAM  www.youth-med.gr. She is the Chair of the MSc program on “Strategies of Developmental and Adolescent Health” of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Chief editor of the Journal “Developmental and Adolescent Health- JDAH” and Co-editor in other international journals.
